CHANGES to TRAINING TIMES/VENUES

Please note the following changes to the training schedule this week:

*Due to the Accredited Time Trial taking place at Drumbrae on Tuesday 2nd there will be no normal training sessions for ESCo and Groups A and B.

*On Sunday 7th there will be a joint Group A and Group B session at Drumbrae - due to many of our swimmers taking part in the East District Age Groups.

The session will run as follows:

Land: 1630-1715 / Pool: 1730-1930

*As noted previously, we have recently acquired quality pooltime at a new venue and are finalising the minor details of our usage of it. This will undoubtedly mean a couple of positive changes to the weekly schedule for Group A and Group B with effect from week commencing March 15th - watch this space for further information.

Please note the following regarding the ESCo training schedule - in particular the changes over the next few weeks at the foot of the section

CHANGES TO THE SCHEDULE (ESCo)

It is very important that we expand our land programme with a view to improving flexibility and injury prevention and aiding recovery and regeneration. We will therefore add in a few 15 minute slots either side of the evening sessions that will include vital aspects of preparation. These will replace the usual large amounts of time spent doing nothing in the changing rooms/showers at the start/end of sessions.

Tuesday 1715-1730 - Thera-band exercises (shoulder stability / injury prevention)
Tuesday 1930-1945 - full body stretch (recovery / developmental flexibility)
Wednesday/Thursday pre 1700 - arrive on poolside as early as possible for full dynamic warmup / personally prescribed exercises
Thursday 1900-1915 - Thera-band exercises (shoulder stability / injury prevention)
Friday 2000-2015 - full body stretch (recovery / developmental flexibility)

Wednesday/Friday land sessions remain as normal
.

Further Changes over the next few weeks(ESCo)
  • The training schedule will be as normal until the Scottish National Age Groups (8th-11th April) except for:
    • Session at NSA, Stirling on Saturday 20th March 1000-1200 (no Sunday 21st session unless needed)
    • No training at Portobello on Monday 29th March - those not attending Sheffield can attend the Group A session that evening (tbc)
    • Morning sessions on Tuesday 30th March and Thursday 1st April will be at Ainslie Park 0600-0800 - not at Leith Victoria.
    • Session at NSA, Stirling on Saturday 3rd April 1000-1200 (no Sunday 4th session unless needed). This will be a joint Warrender/Hearts session for all qualifiers for Scottish National Age Groups (excluding those competing at the GB Long Course Champs that week).
    • Training schedule w/c 5th April in the build up to Scottish National Age Groups will be advised nearer the time.
  • Immediately after the Scottish National Age Groups you will train Monday 12th PM, Tuesday 13th PM and Wednesday 14th AM and will then enjoy a long weekend break with training re-commencing from Monday 19th AM onwards.

Just a short note to clarify some of the session times within the new schedule - mostly with regards to Groups B and A. Some of the times displayed on the original schedule were the maximum time possible but, on occasions, it will prove more suitable for some of the sessions to finish earlier than stated. The Group B session at Drumbrae on Tuesday will finish at 2100 instead of 2115 - therefore 1930-2100. The Group B session at Dalry on Wednesday will finish at 2115 instead of 2145 - therefore 1945-2115.The Group A session at Dalry on Wednesday will finish between 2130-2145.
Also, although the Wednesday AM session at Ainslie Park is slated as 0600-0800 we do appreciate that an 0800 departure may prove difficult for some swimmers/parents. With this in mind we are implementing an "earliest get out time" of 0730 for this session for both groups but swimmers are encouraged to stay until 0800 wherever possible.
